Contributes to the accounting and human resources administrative well-being of CenterState CEO, its subsidiaries and affiliates. Responsibilities include performing all payroll functions, maintaining HRIS system and HR generalist responsibilities. Reconciles bank accounts for Finance Department.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform specific accounting and human resource functions, including but not limited to:
    • Prepare payroll for CenterState CEO and partner companies with electronic payroll system.
    • Process vendor invoices for payment and maintain vendor records.
    • Maintain grants administration system and reconcile expenses to appropriate grants.
    • Prepare and ensure timely bank deposits.
    • Participate in the year-end audit process for CenterState CEO and partner organizations.
    • Perform reconciliations as required. Provide back up support for the review and reconciliation of bank accounts.
    • Provide human resource generalist support to the VP of Human Resources; post 401(k) onboarding new employees, respond to benefit questions and provide administrative support to the VP of Human Resources.
  • Follow internal financial controls to assure fiscal accountability and accuracy.
  • Support the preparation of and manage monthly, quarterly and year-end processes within the payroll system.
  • Keep abreast of all CEO policies, procedures and accounting and finance systems to provide assistance to staff and backup coverage.
  • Strictly uphold confidentiality of members, employees, and company business inside and outside the company.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings.
  • Additional duties within the scope of the position.

Minimum Education and Experience: 

  • Associate degree in accounting or related field. Additional years of experience at a ratio of 2:1 may be considered in lieu of an associate degree.
  • 1-3 years of accounting, payroll and human resources; nonprofit industry desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Confidentiality of personnel and payroll information is required.
  • Computer proficiency including human resource information systems, payroll, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one small group situations to clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to perform intermediate mathematics, such as computing interest, proportions and percentages.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with preparing and analyzing data and figures, performing detailed accounting work, using a computer terminal for research, and/or extensive reading.
  • General office equipment is used.

Work Environment:

There is no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Work is performed in a typical office environment.
