The Director of Human Resources is directly responsible for ensuring that all facets of the human resources function are carried out to support CenterState CEO’s mission of ensuring the success of its members and the prosperity of the region.  The Director of Human Resources will provide guidance and expertise to staff and management to ensure success in their positions with CenterState CEO.  Also responsible for providing HR oversight for CenterState CEO’s organizational partners.

Status: Full time, Exempt

Division/Department: Administration & Human Capital

Reports to: Senior Vice President, Administration & Human Capital

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (additional duties may be assigned)

  • Recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring
  • Onboarding, including orientation
  • Employee relations, including employee engagement
  • Creating and maintaining a culture of inclusion, trust, transparency and accountability
  • Promoting professional skills training and development
  • Creating and maintaining job descriptions
  • Performance assessment and management, including being an advisor to management
  • Employee benefits, including insurances, paid time off, and leave management
  • Compensation management
  • Ensuring all transactional activities are completed
  • Participation and engagement in CenterState CEO and community events
  • Succession and staffing planning
  • Policy development and maintenance that supports the above
  • Ensuring compliance with activities related to the above
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities as necessary to direct HR clerical support

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or business-related degree with a human resource minor.
  • Minimum of seven years in a human resources position, including five years in management as a generalist
  • Proof of ongoing education in the human resources field.
  • Experience with a community service nonprofit organization preferred.
  • HRCI or SHRM certification is a plus.

  • Understand that policies are necessary, and be flexible and consistent when appropriate
  • Learn and apply all Department of Labor regulatory requirements, including informing management when necessary
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including developing and facilitating effective presentations to diverse groups
  • Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and activities and set priorities
  • Electronic equipment proficiency including Microsoft Office, including the ability to learn and adapt to new software systems and processes.
  • Ability to travel locally with own transportation

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with preparing, analyzing, and interpreting data and figures, using a computer terminal, and/or extensive reading.
  • General office equipment is used.

Work Environment:

  • There is no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Work is performed in a typical office work environment with outside travel to client/member/prospect locations.
