The Vice President of Administration and Human Capital supports the Senior Vice President of Administration and Human Capital in overseeing the day-to-day administration and operations of the organization. The Administration and Human Capital team includes the organization’s human resources, finances and accounting, facilities, technology and other core functions critical to allowing the organization to meet its mission and financial goals.

Reports to: Senior Vice President, Administration & Human Capital

Salary: $90,000 -$110,000

Strategy

  • The VP of Administration and Human Capital will coordinate and provide background assistance to the SVP to support the various roles associated with the Administration and Human Capital team, including finance, operations, HR and information technology, minimizing silos of systems and data.
  • Assist in planning resource allocation and long-range planning and sustainability.

Leadership

  • The VP will assist the SVP to manage, recruit, and develop staff for finance, human resources and operations.
  • The VP will assist the SVP in managing the use of external vendors and contractors when needed.
  • The successful candidate for the VP position may have the opportunity to move into the Senior Vice President position at year end 2023 as part of a planned transition.

Operations

  • Supports the SVP for the effective operations of the physical plant, human capital function, and finance including budgeting and planning.

Administration

  • Human capital and financial/fiscal operations of the organization.
  • Provides guidance and service to CenterState CEO’s organizational partners.
  • Supports in addressing employee challenges/conflicts – interpersonal and otherwise.
  • Oversees the organization’s facilities.
  • Assists with organizational risk management, compliance, and nonprofit governance.
  • Assists with processing and administering work of grant life cycle; reviewing applications ensuring funds are used appropriately.
  • Assists with the organization’s annual budget process.
  • Oversees grant administration, compliance and reporting.
  • Assists with design of organization investment strategies.
  • Assists with the implementation of short- and medium-term departmental goals related to human resources, finance and facility operations.

  • Assists SVP to support CenterState CEO’s finance and sustainability, audit, and compensation committees.
  • Attends and participates in senior staff and management team meetings.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador.  
  • Practices community engagement through partnerships, participation, and alignment with CenterState CEO events, events of core partners and other activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Second to the SVP, manages and supervises team, including writing annual performance evaluations and ensuring staff training and professional development as needed.

Work Environment:

General office equipment is used. There is no exposure to known adverse environmental conditions.  Work is performed in a typical office work environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Close mental and visual attention required to perform work, verbal communication, using a computer terminal, and/or extensive reading.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and push and/or pull up to 20-pound loads at a time relative to event-based equipment.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree. At least 7-10 years managerial experience in progressively responsible leadership positions with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role overseeing operational and performance outcomes including experience and oversight of finance functions and investments.  A working knowledge of government regulations for businesses. Good computer skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience supervising and managing a team with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, delegate responsibility, and inspire, engage, and motivate staff. Experience with finance and investment strategies. The ability to work with discretion.
