Lead and manage the strategic marketing and events functions of CenterState CEO including branding, strategic planning, and critical events strategies. Support the integration of communications, marketing and event programs and initiatives into a cohesive effort that conveys a consistent message to a range of stakeholders, including members, prospective members, strategic partners and the general public in support of CenterState CEO's brand, mission, strategic goals and objectives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an overarching comprehensive marketing strategy for both internal and external audiences in support of CEO’s mission, strategic goals and objectives.
  • Create content, marketing and collateral materials, and graphics.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies, ideas, concepts and programs.
  • Support the establishment and assessment of relevant team metrics to enable ongoing optimization of brand strategy.
  • Execute a vision to increase brand awareness and monitor and enforce brand standard compliance across the organization.
  • Lead cross-department marketing projects and effectively support internal and external marketing needs.
  • Oversee and work with outside vendors to implement marketing initiatives.
  • Conceptualize and coordinate the development and production and design of collateral materials for print and digital media.
  • Oversee the graphic layout and design of annual reports including Annual Reports, Economic Forecast Report,s and the Community Guide among others.
  • Provide direct support to CenterState CEO’s membership team to advance Click, the digital chamber portal, and ensure its success.
  • Work directly with other teams, including Member and Business Experience; Racial Equity and Social Impact, and Inclusive Growth, to establish brand and marketing strategies for key programs and initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction on the implementation of advertising and sponsorships to promote the organization and its programs.
  • Ensure all events and programs align to the organization's strategic plan and goals.
  • Develop marketing plans for all major events, including but not limited to timelines, task lists, promotional activities and marketing materials, and budget.
  • Provide strategic leadership on new event ideas and experiences for in person, virtual and hybrid events.
  • Develop a unified marketing toolkit for all CenterState CEO events.
  • Support the monitoring of budgets for all events.
  • Expected to attend and actively participate in weekly management team meetings, senior staff meetings, staff meetings, board and investor meetings, events and weekly communications team meetings.
  • Responsibility for planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of subordinates.
  • Additional duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Direct supervision of the marketing, sponsorship, and events staff.

Minimum Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or closely related field. Additional years of experience at a ratio of 2:1 may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience to include a minimum of 3 years’ experience in management of a professional staff, 7+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in communications, public relations, marketing, and experience in event planning and consumer media.

Special Requirements:

  • Driver’s license.
  • Regular day travel.
  • Required to work beyond normal work hours on a regular basis.
  • Ability to be on-call before/after normal work hours.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of marketing strategies, and advertising principles, strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite as well as having a strong creative design eye and ability to develop and provide art direction
  • Computer and technical proficiency including Microsoft Office suite (Office365), Constant Contact, website content management systems (Drupal, Wix, Weebly), data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications. Salesforce proficiency a plus.
  • Knowledge of The Associated Press style guidelines.
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and delegate in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to provide effective advice and counsel on strategic and/or critical marketing and communication issues and to exercise effective judgment.
  • Expert knowledge of communication principles, media and marketing techniques.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate activities and promotional events.
  • Ability to write executive-level communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to respond to questions from groups of department heads, managers and members.
  • Skill in planning and scheduling to meet multiple deadlines and ensure the timely completion of projects.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with preparing, analyzing, and interpreting data and figures, using a computer terminal, and/or extensive reading.
  • General office equipment is used.

Work Environment:

There is no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Work is performed in a typical office work environment with outside travel to client/member/prospect locations.
