Downtown Committee of Syracuse

The Downtown Committee of Syracuse, Inc. is a private, nonprofit professional downtown management organization whose mission is the revitalization of downtown Syracuse. It is governed by a 15-member board of directors. It represents all property owners and tenants within the central business district and is at the nexus of the public and private partnership that brings about improvement and revitalization. The Downtown Committee serves as an advocate for its constituents and a catalyst for improvement through a variety of programs that focus on district growth and development, public space, engagement, and business retention and recruitment. The Downtown Committee also operates a Downtown Security and Information Center, located at 230 Harrison Street.

As the steward of the Downtown Special Assessment District, the Downtown Committee plays an essential role to make sure downtown is clean, attractive, safe and vibrant. The boundaries of the Special Assessment District are I-690 on the north, I-81 to the east, Adams Street on the south, and Onondaga Creek to the west.

The Downtown Committee partners with CenterState CEO and other community members to encourage growth in the city center. CenterState CEO works with the Downtown Committee on shared economic development goals, recognizing that a strong downtown is integral to the vibrancy of the region. The Downtown Committee rents space from CenterState CEO and is co-located at 115 West Fayette Street, Syracuse. As organizational partners, they work together to advance opportunities to drive regional economic development initiatives.

CenterState CEO Organizational Partners are independent organizations aligned in their mutual interest to support business growth and advance economic development in the Central New York region and beyond. CenterState CEO provides operational support services, co-location or others benefits, and collaboration on strategic priorities and opportunities.
