Syracuse's new 'Winter' mascot celebrates Groundhog Day forecast in Punxsutawney

(syracuse.com) Visit Syracuse claims the Salt City is now "the official home of winter." The city even has a new mascot, a frosty-looking figure named (what else?) Winter.

"Winter" and several other Central New Yorkers headed to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, on Thursday to celebrate Groundhog Day at Gobbler's Knob. Naturally, they were rooting for six more weeks of winter -- and got it.
