The Tech Garden Hires Katie Oja as Program Manager

Katie Oja

Katie Oja serves as Program Manager for The Tech Garden, its technology incubator and business accelerator. In her role as Program Manager, Oja is responsible for the development and delivery of programs and services to support the Syracuse Technology Garden’s innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship programs. This includes the budgeting, marketing, executing and tracking of programs such as Syracuse Startup Weekend, Syracuse Tech Meetup, Hack Upstate, the Clean Tech Center, Grants for Growth, and NY Hotspot.

 

Previously, Oja worked at Syracuse University with the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, where she managed the overall operations and administration of the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) and the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans’ Families (EBV-F) programs. In that role, Oja worked with service-connected disabled veterans and their families to assist them in the transition from military life to business ownership. Oja brings to The Tech Garden a range of skills including program management and development, mentoring, strategic planning, event planning and execution.

 

Oja holds a BA in English Literature and Art History from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is an active participant in the entrepreneurial community of Syracuse, an avid spin cyclist, a cross-stitch fanatic, and a craft beer enthusiast. Oja lives in the Syracuse University neighborhood with her husband Matt, an attorney, and their two cats, Lewis and Maxwell.
