The City of Syracuse has designated the use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to help city residents get training and job placement in high-demand careers in Syracuse and Central New York. CenterState CEO will administer the program at no administrative cost to the City of Syracuse. The funding will be used to recruit unemployed and underemployed Syracuse residents for specialized training, certifications and apprenticeship programs, with a focus on immediate workforce needs.
CenterState CEO's Vice President of Economic Inclusion Dominic Robinson commented on the proposal to local media.
“All of these jobs are jobs that start with living sustaining wages with career opportunities on the backend and where we have employers at the table, really invested in the process willing to hire,” Robinson said.
