The first in a new series by CenterState CEO's Generation Next highlights the distinct experiences that women have in tech. Dynamic speakers Dr. Erica Mitchell, Critical Infrastructure/Key Resources Research Group leader from the Army Cyber Institute at West Point, and Latisia Hall-Cannon, Quality Program Manager at Lockheed Martin highlight this first session. Centered as a celebration of diversity, this series aims to create more awareness and advocacy for women doing amazing work in tech related fields. Through both panels and presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in important and inspirational conversation surrounding the current impact of women in tech. About the Speakers:

Latisia Hall-Cannon is a Syracuse native, City of Syracuse School District and Syracuse University graduate that is still living her best life right here in Syracuse, NY. Latisia graduated with an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry. She also obtained a certified supply chain professional certificate. Latisia has amassed close to 15 years of project management, quality assurance and technical experience. She has had a long-standing career in in the field of biotechnology having worked for the majority of her career for a global fortune 500 biopharmaceutical company serving in roles of increasing responsibility as well as within different functions. Latisia is now a Quality Program Manager in the defense industry.

Dr. Erica M. Mitchell is the Critical Infrastructure/Key Resources Research Group leader at the Army Cyber Institute at West Point, and an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department. She has worked for the Department of Defense in various capacities from junior communications manager to project lead on two DoD-wide programs, one implementing two-factor authentication and another developing and implementing host mitigations. Her primary research project at the Army Cyber Institute is the Jack Voltaic research series, focused on public-private partnerships and inter-dependencies in critical infrastructure protection and resilience. Additionally, she studies human factors in Internet of Things security intentions. She has a PhD in Information Science and Technology and Master of Science in Information Management from Syracuse University, and a Bachelor of Science in American Legal Systems from the United States Military Academy at West Point. She maintains the Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) and Security+ certifications.
