Asalim Thabet, MD, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Upstate Medical University
Dr. Thabet is a dual board certified pediatric emergency room physician who has completed additional fellowship training in wellness. She’s a native Syracusian and spends her time outside of work with her busy three sons.
Rachelle Lando MA, Coordinator of Healing Arts and Language Services in the Office of Patient Experience, St. Joseph’s Health
Rachelle has worked at St. Joseph’s Health for 13 years. Her current role of eight years, has been building a Healing Arts program and optimizing the Language Services program. In the Healing Arts program, she developed six programs including healing touch, therapy pets, aromatherapy, music therapy, Music & Memory and therapeutic music. In addition, Rachelle teaches self-care and stress management classes to graduate nurses. She is the coordinator of the Colleague Care Team that was instituted in the beginning of the pandemic to ensure all colleagues feel supported during every day stressors and the continual transformation of healthcare
Michelle McCormick, Benefits Manager, SRC
Michelle has over twenty years’ experience designing and managing employee benefit plans and programs, with a focus on health and welfare plans. She has worked for a large health insurer and a global employee benefits consulting firm prior to transitioning to the employer side. She has worked for large employers including Bausch & Lomb, Harsco Corporation and SRC, Inc. managing benefits and wellness programs.
The Workplace Wellness series explores how mental health affects us at home, at work, and in the community, in addition to examining the real costs of its challenges.
