Syracuse Offers Paid Apprenticeship to Gear up Labor Force for I-81 Construction

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse is working to gear up its labor force for several major construction projects, including I-81.
The city, Onondaga County, Center State CEO and other partners are offering a paid construction training program that runs for 11 weeks, beginning in June.
The program, Pathways to Apprenticeship, targets women, people of color and veterans. The goal of the program is to provide people with enough skills that they would be ready to a paid apprentice position with the Builders’ Trades registered apprenticeship program.
