SYRACUSE, NY – The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce (GOFCC) today hosted its 2024 Annual Meeting, presented by Constellation, at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in Oswego. More than 250 people attended the meeting to hear about the successes of the Oswego County business community and what’s needed to drive continued progress. GOFCC Executive Director Sara Broadwell spoke about the impact that its members–local and community-minded companies and organizations large and small–are having throughout Oswego County. In keeping with the event’s theme, Momentum, the GOFCC also recognized several businesses and individuals that are continually creating new opportunities in Oswego County.
“Oswego County is moving forward profoundly, and quickly. When we unite our efforts and harness the power of collaboration and shared purpose - we can go further, faster,” said Broadwell. “As we continue to gain momentum, others will further build on the pace and positive impact being achieved here.”
The event featured keynote remarks from Joe Nehme, senior manager of external affairs at Micron Technology, Inc. Nehme shared an overview of Micron’s New York megafab project, and the significant impact that the company's investment stands to have on all of Central New York, including Oswego County.
"Having worked in and been in this community for many years, I know momentum has existed. The seeds planted here are validated by Micron's choice to come to Central New York. For Micron to be successful, all of Central New York, including Oswego County, will need to work together," said Nehme.
The Chamber also presented four awards during the event:
- Small Business Award, presented to Dr. Ali Hawthorn, Owner, Highland Animal Hospital.
- Impact Award, presented to Farnham Family Services.
- Community Investor Award, presented to Oswego County Federal Credit Union.
- Nancy L. Premo Woman of Distinction Award, presented to Rachel Pierce, Executive Director, Workforce Development Board of Oswego County.
