About the SpeakerLuke Tilley, Ph.D. is Chief Economist, Wilmington Trust Investment Advisors, Inc. He is also a member of WTIA’s Investment Committee. Prior to joining Wilmington Trust in 2015, Tilley was an officer and economic advisor with the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Earlier in his career, he worked as a senior economist at IHS Global Insight (now part of S&P Global) and as an economist for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Tilley holds a Ph.D. in economics from Temple University and a bachelor’s degree in economics and history from James Madison University. He is the current chair of the American Bankers Association’s Economic Advisory Committee; a former president of the Philadelphia Council for Business Economics, a chapter of the National Association for Business Economics; and a former adjunct faculty member at Temple University. |
About Amy LiuAmy Liu is a nonresident senior fellow at Brookings Metro within the Brookings Institution. Liu has nearly three decades of experience as both a scholar and executive, committed to improving governance and public policies at the local, national and global levels. Most recently, she served as the interim president of Brookings, guiding the institution through a period of strategic assessment and change. She then stayed on as a presidential advisor to help with the transition and oversee critical cross-institution initiatives. Prior to July 2022, Liu served as vice president and director of Brookings Metro, which she co-founded in 1996. Today, the program is a leading resource for public and private sector leaders interested in promoting prosperous, just, and resilient communities. Liu is an expert on cities and metropolitan areas, as well as the interplay of national, state, and local policies in expanding economic opportunity. Read Amy Liu’s full bio. |
