About Oswego County

Oswego County offers year-round fun and recreation for all! History, festivals, fishing and outdoor activities highlight each season. Nestled on the shores of Lake Ontario, the city of Oswego is in the midst of a renaissance as new restaurants and small businesses occupy storefronts, creating a vibrant and lively ambience. The city hosts exciting events including weekly downtown Farmers Markets, Harborfest, races at the Oswego Speedway and historical events at Fort Ontario and the Safe Haven Museum.

Fulton is a city rich with history that is situated along both shores of the Oswego River. The river and Lake Neahtawanta provide ample opportunities for outdoor pursuits. Walk along the river and stop by Lock 3 where boaters still utilize the advantages brought about by the New York State Barge Canal System. Visitors enjoy Indian Point, a great spot for launching your boat, picnicking or simply wandering among the many blooms planted there.
