Job Summary: The Director of Grants Management plays a pivotal role in managing, optimizing, and scaling organizational systems and processes to enhance the efficiency, accountability, and strategic impact of CenterState’s portfolio of grant funding. The Director is responsible for overseeing and refining existing, post-award grants management processes and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the spending of grant funds remains aligned with organizational goals, resources, and operational strategies for long-term sustainability and growth. Collaborating internally across teams and externally with grant subawardees and subcontractors, the Director also stewards CenterState’s grant funding to ensure compliance with both internal controls and external regulations. The Director will also work closely with the Finance team, supporting budget development and forecasting, auditing, and accounts receivable/payable as needed.


Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 per year

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)


Grant Application Development

  • In collaboration with program teams, co-develops grant budgets that support staff funding, capacity-building initiatives, and organizational growth
  • Helps analyze funder budget requirements and regulations
  • Leads grants management training for program staff as needed

Grants Management

  • Leads post-award contract development
  • Reviews and monitors spending to ensure compliance with funder requirements
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures, and controls
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and cost principles
  • Manages sub-awardee/subcontractor compliance
  • Supports the organization in executing grant budget-related tasks in a timely fashion by anticipating, identifying, and addressing challenges
  • Leads budget modification processes
  • Leads financial reporting in collaboration with the Development and Finance/Accounting teams
  • Assists the Finance team with audits as needed, i.e., Single Audit

Systems and Workflow Improvement

  • Refines and implements standardized grants management processes across departments to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Assists with the collection of grant financial information in databases
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and high standards by suggesting efficiencies as needed

Strategic Grant & Funding Leadership

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of the organization-wide grant development strategy, aligned with financial and programmatic goals
  • Oversees grant budgeting and financial alignment across all departments aligned with the organization’s funding strategies and long-term financial sustainability
  • Collaborates with the Finance team to optimize budget planning, forecasting, and financial reporting for all grant-funded activities, as well as support accounts payable/receivable as needed
  • Assists in the preparation of relevant financial materials for committee meetings, reports, and other presentations

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9a.m. to 5 p.m. but can be flexible as agreed to by portfolio leads. Optional work from home on Mondays and Fridays.


Travel

No travel is expected for this position.


Minimum Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ Years experience in Nonprofit grants management
  • Well versed in regulations governing state and federal grants including 2 CFR 200
  • Experience with Nonprofit grant budgeting


Special Requirements:

  • Basic accounting knowledge a plus

Physical and Mental Requirements:

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
