CNY Leadership Coach Ralph Simone Releases New Book, Slow Down to Go Faster: Living and Leading Intentionally

Posted on June 2, 2026

Six months ago, Emergent founder Ralph Simone published Slow Down to Go Faster: Living and Leading Intentionally. Co-written with his son, Renny, the book carries the Palmetto Publishing imprint and is available for sale through multiple online vendors. We at Emergent are excited to share the news of this major accomplishment, both for the Simones and for our broader family of leaders.

It’s more than a self-help book or leadership how-to; Slow Down to Go Faster represents the synthesis of decades of practice in intentional living. Ralph applies the same holistic and purpose-driven ethos to his writing as he has to countless Emergent seminars, coaching sessions, and retreats. Those who have participated in Emergent programming, such as LeadFORWARDLeader as Coach, or the brand-new Emergent Leadership Collective, will notice familiar themes in this book.

In today’s “hustle” and side-gig culture, people often feel the pressure to live fast—to embrace the grind and go, go, go. Slow Down to Go Faster is a refreshing take on how to maintain fulfillment—and integrity—in the face of these headwinds.

“I envision this book for professional knowledge workers who are feeling overwhelmed and perhaps burned out,” said the author. “Although, I think anyone who is interested in scaling their impact and living holistically could benefit from reading the book.”

Ralph uses his lived experience as a teaching tool; his journey illustrates the advantages of and challenges to living a slower, more deliberate life. After years in the rat race, he realized a more integrated approach to life and leadership was both possible and necessary. Through specific practices, mindsets, and habits, the book explores the paradox of slowing down to actually increase your speed. His stories and lessons are backed by specific recommendations, scientific research, and a host of writers and thinkers whose words have helped shape Ralph’s unique philosophy.

Readers will learn how to improve effectiveness and impact at work, but also to make life and leadership more joyful. Emergent can help with these goals, too. We urge you to pick up a copy if you haven’t already, read and internalize the wisdom within, and then explore our diverse programming so we can help you put these ideas into practice. Slow Down to Go Faster: Living and Leading Intentionally is available for purchase online at Bookshop.comAmazon.com, and Barnes and Noble.com. For more information about the author and Emergent, please visit our website and social media platforms.
