Thompson & Johnson Equipment Celebrates President & CEO Dave Schneckenburger’s 45-Year Anniversary

EAST SYRACUSE, NY (June 1, 2026) – Thompson & Johnson Equipment proudly celebrates an extraordinary milestone as President and CEO Dave Schneckenburger marks 45 years with the company on June 1st.

A respected leader in the material handling industry and a driving force behind Thompson & Johnson’s continued growth and success, Dave Schneckenburger has dedicated nearly half a century to advancing the family-owned business while helping shape the future of the industry throughout New York State.

Since joining Thompson & Johnson in 1981, Dave has played a transformational role in the company’s evolution. Under his leadership, Thompson & Johnson has expanded its footprint across Central, Eastern, and Southern New York, built partnerships with world-class manufacturers including Toyota Material Handling Crown Equipment, diversified service offerings, and solidified its reputation as one of the region’s premier providers of material handling equipment, warehouse solutions, rentals, service, and operator training.

Over the course of his career, Dave has helped guide the company through periods of tremendous industry change, technological advancement, economic challenges, and strategic growth — all while preserving the values and culture that have defined Thompson & Johnson since its founding in 1954.

Known throughout the organization for his steady leadership, humility, integrity, and deep commitment to employees and customers alike, Dave has built a culture rooted in trust, loyalty, hard work, and long-term relationships. His people-first leadership philosophy has helped foster generations of employee longevity and has made Thompson & Johnson not only an industry leader, but also a workplace employees are proud to call home.

“Forty-five years ago, I never could have imagined the incredible journey Thompson & Johnson would take or the remarkable people I would have the privilege to work alongside. When I look back on the last four and a half decades, what stands out most are the relationships — our dedicated employees, loyal customers, trusted partners, and the communities that have supported us along the way. I’ve always believed our success comes down to treating people the right way, standing behind your word, and building something that feels more like family than business. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together, grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey, and excited for the future of Thompson & Johnson as we continue building on the values that have guided this company since the very beginning,” said Schneckenburger.

As a family business leader, Dave’s impact extends far beyond business operations. Throughout his tenure, he has championed community involvement and philanthropic initiatives across the regions Thompson & Johnson serves, supporting local nonprofits, workforce development programs, industry organizations, charitable causes, and educational partnerships that continue to strengthen local communities.

Those who know Dave best often describe him as a leader who leads by example — someone equally respected for his business acumen and his genuine care for people. His ability to build lasting relationships with employees, customers, vendors, and industry partners has become one of the defining hallmarks of his career.

“Dave’s leadership has left an incredible mark not only on Thompson & Johnson, but on the many people and communities the company serves,” said Mark Benedetto, Director of Operations. “His dedication, vision, and unwavering commitment to doing things the right way continues to inspire everyone around him.”

Today, Thompson & Johnson employs more than 180 people across multiple locations and remains one of the Northeast’s most respected names in material handling and industrial equipment solutions — a legacy strengthened significantly through Dave’s leadership over the last 45 years.

Reaching 45 years with one company is an extraordinary accomplishment. Helping lead that company into continued growth and success for generations is even more remarkable.

As Thompson & Johnson celebrates this milestone, the company proudly recognizes Dave Schneckenburger not only for his years of service, but for the lasting legacy of leadership, integrity, and excellence he continues to build every day.
