Liberty Resources Celebrates Expanded Access to Behavioral Health Supports in Onondaga County With Crisis Residence Renovation

Posted on August 21, 2026

Liberty Resources’ Chief Executive Officer Kelli Harris and Director of Crisis Residence Marget Rhode cut the ribbon to celebrate the completion of renovations to its Onondaga County Crisis Residence.

SYRACUSE, NY — Liberty Resources celebrated the completion of renovations to Nova House, its Crisis Residence in Onondaga County, strengthening its ability to support adults experiencing behavioral health crises with 24/7 care, peer support, and a pathway to recovery outside of a hospital setting. The agency marked the occasion on Tuesday, August 18 with a ribbon cutting and open house.

Located in Syracuse, the ADA-compliant residence features eight private bedrooms, including two wheelchair-accessible bedrooms on the first floor, along with an accessible bathroom, entrance ramps, and other accessibility features. The residence also includes shared living spaces, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, a spacious deck, and private meeting spaces.  The renovations were funded through a grant with the New York State Office of Mental Health.

“At a time when communities across New York are facing growing behavioral health needs, the completion of this renovation enhances our ability to provide adults experiencing a crisis with a welcoming environment where they can focus on recovery,” said Kelli Harris, Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Resources. “Nova House helps individuals regain a sense of hope and reconnect with the services and supports they need to move forward. We are grateful to our staff, partners, and supporters who helped make this important project possible.”

Nova House is one of Liberty Resources’ four Crisis Residence programs serving Central New York.  The program offers adults a temporary, supportive environment where they can stabilize during a crisis and reconnect with the services and resources needed to continue their recovery in the community. Guests may stay for up to 28 days while receiving 24/7 person-centered support from trained professionals and peer support specialists along with connections to ongoing behavioral health treatment and community services.

In addition to Nova House in Onondaga County, Liberty Resources operates three additional Crisis Residence programs: Evo House in Cayuga County, Serenity House in Oswego County, and Lotus House in Madison County.
