SYRACUSE, NY – Robert M. Simpson, president of CenterState CEO, in Syracuse, issued the following statement following Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon’s State of the County Address:
“Central New York is growing. That is now an inevitability. How we grow is the challenge before us as a community. Last night, County Executive Ryan McMahon laid out a series of investments and projects that will position Onondaga County to maximize this significant wave of economic growth with a broad range of necessary, forward-looking investments in infrastructure, quality of life and public health that will enable us to attract talent and businesses looking to expand operations.
The County Executive also highlighted the sale of the former film hub to Saab, Inc. This project underscores the growth of the region’s high-tech manufacturing sector. Saab relocated its North American headquarters to Syracuse and has continued to invest and expand its local operations. We remain committed to supporting the company’s continued success.
The County Executive’s proposed investments reflect his understanding of what this community needs as it grows. We look forward to working alongside him and other federal, state and local leaders to ensure this community is prepared to meet this moment of progress in a way that will benefit our entire community. We thank him for his steadfast partnership.”
