37th Annual Golf Tournament Raises $144,000 to Support Local Healthcare in CNY

(Oswego, NY – June 7, 2024) The 37th Annual Oswego Health Golf Tournament presented by Novelis held on June 3rd, raised over $144,000 to enhance local healthcare through the support of local businesses, community members, and Oswego Health employees.

Winning the captain and crew event was Pathfinder Bank, with a score of 56. Team members included Craig Fitzpatrick, Dan Dorsey, Jr., Christian Morgia, and Chris Carpenter.

Second place with a score of 58 was team Ontario Lakeside Associates, which included Carlos Dator, Zach Badawy, Lou Castaldo, and Kevin Dorsey.

Third place was Oswego County Federal Credit Union and team members were Bill Carhart, Lance Pezzlo, Brian Cummings, and Doug Cronin.

During the tournament, the Debbie Hicks Memorial fun prize was presented to Team Barclay Damon #2. This honor is selected by a blind draw of all the teams in the non-competitive division. This prize is presented each year in memory of longtime golf tournament organizer, Debbie Hicks.

Individual highlights during the tournament included the straightest drive on #1 won by Peter Donovan while winning the longest drive on hole #14 was Kara Smegelsky and Cole Cullinan. There were closest to the pin won on various holes, including #2 won by Breanna Bobrycki and Ed Alerts; #4 won by Kara Smegelsky and Austin French; #12 won by Cole Cullinan; #18 won by Casey Donovan. Winning the putting contest was Eric Campbell and Ed Fayette was the chipping contest winner.

This year’s tournament featured a unique twist on “Beat the Pro” being replaced with “Beat the Coach” featuring Curt Fitzpatrick, Head Coach of the 2023 National Champion Football team the Cortland Red Dragons, and the 2023 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III Coach of the Year.

Proceeds from this golf tournament will directly impact care in our community.”

Plans are already underway for the 38th Annual Oswego Health Golf Tournament which is slated for June 2, 2025.
