Cooper MacDonnell of Eastern Security Receives National Distinction as “Emerging Leader Under 40”

Cooper MacDonnell

Cooper MacDonnell, 37 and President of Eastern Security Services, was honored as an Emerging Leader Under 40 by security industry publication Security Systems News. This award, rebranded from SSN’s former “40 Under 40,” is a highly coveted and competitive industry distinction given to young leaders whose vision has not only impacted their own company, but also the security industry as a whole.

Since 2022, Cooper’s vision for Eastern Security Services has been to expand his family business across Upstate New York. Originally founded in Syracuse, Eastern now has teams in Corning, Rochester, and Buffalo— with the Buffalo team celebrating the grand opening of their office in August 2024. This expansion and the doubling of Eastern’s sales and technical force has led to consecutive record sales years for this local business, which Cooper has utilized to make several significant capital investments— the most prominent of which being the relocation of the Syracuse headquarters to a new office in Franklin Square in Q1 2025, which was previewed at the 2024 CenterState CEO Economic Champions breakfast.

Despite Eastern Security’s rapid growth, their unwavering commitment to exceptional service and creating an outstanding workplace remains at the forefront. This year, they proudly earned recognition as one of Central New York’s Best Places to Work. Their vibrant, welcoming company culture shines through on their active social media platforms, showcasing Eastern Security not just as experts in security solutions, but also as a people-first employer dedicated to their team and community.

Eastern Security Services is not just a growing business— it’s a testament to visionary leadership, a thriving workplace culture, and a steadfast dedication to protecting communities across Upstate New York.
