SYRACUSE, NY – Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPAs, LLC has promoted six employees. In the Auditing and Accounting department, Alyssa Hansen, MBA and Nick Marinelli have been named Senior Associates. In the Tax department, Brittany Becker, CPA and Katie Rivers, CPA have been named Senior Associates and Greg Smith, CPA, MBA and Amie Vanderpool, CPA have been named a Senior Managers.

Alyssa Hansen, MBA has been promoted to Audit & Accounting Senior Associate. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration, with an Accounting Concentration, from Alfred University. Alyssa is the treasurer of Friends of the Canteen.  She is working to complete the certification process to earn her designation as a Certified Public Accountant. Alyssa resides in North Syracuse.

Nick Marinelli has been promoted to Audit & Accounting Senior Associate. Nick received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from State University of New York at Oswego. He is working to complete the certification process to earn his designation as a Certified Public Accountant.  Nick resides in Auburn.

Brittany Becker, CPA has been promoted to Tax Senior Associate. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from State University of New York at Potsdam and a Master of Business Administration degree in Professional Accountancy from Utica College. She is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). Brittany resides in Liverpool.

Katie Rivers, CPA has been promoted to Tax Senior Associate. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Science degree in Accounting from Siena College. She is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Katie resides in East Syracuse.

Greg Smith, CPA, MBA has been promoted to Tax Senior Manager. Greg graduated from The State University of New York at Oswego with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He is the treasurer of the New York Family Business Center at the Madden School of Business at Le Moyne College and the treasurer of The Orchard Church. Greg is also a member of the Syracuse Executives Association, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and leads the Custom Accounting Solutions (CAS) department at the firm.  Greg resides in Baldwinsville.

Amie Vanderpool, CPA has been promoted to Tax Senior Manager. Amie graduated from Le Moyne College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.  She is the Chairman of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession Program, a member of the NYSSCPA NextGren Syracuse Chapter and a member of the NYSSCPA and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  Amie resides in Auburn.
