SYRACUSE, NY – Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, a local nonprofit health plan, is proud to announce its recognition by Forbes as one of America’s Best-In-State Employers for New York state in 2024.
“This recognition holds special meaning because being a local health plan is at the heart of who we are and what we do,” said Excellus BCBS President and CEO Jim Reed. “We are proud to work, live and volunteer in the same communities as the members we serve.”
“Our employees are the reason we are able to maintain a workplace culture focused on wellbeing, growth and development, diversity, equity and inclusion, comprehensive benefits, a hybrid environment and more,” Reed added.
This prestigious award is presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., a global data and business intelligence platform established in Germany in 2007.
America's Best-In-State Employers 2024 have been identified in an independent survey from a vast sample of more than 160,000 employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S. The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors. Approximately 4.4 million employer evaluations were considered.
Forbes uses three years of data to differentiate between organizations that consistently perform well from those that may only have had a single good year. An employer's final score is determined on a state-by-state basis and is built upon two types of employee evaluations:
- Personal evaluations: Employees’ willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family.
- Public evaluations: Recommendations from friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry - also known as indirect evaluations.
Based on the study results, Excellus BCBS is honored to be recognized on the Forbes list of America’s Best-In-State Employers 2024. See the full list on Forbes.com.
Additionally, in 2024 Excellus BCBS was ranked #8 on the Forbes list of America’s Best Midsize Employers, as well as recognized as one of America’s Best Employers for Women and one of America's Best Employers for Diversity.
