Firley, Moran, Freer and Eassa CPA, P.C. (FMF&E), a leading accounting and advisory Firm headquartered in Syracuse, New York, is proud to announce that Andrea LaBarge, CPA, CGMA, has been named Managing Partner—the first woman to hold this position in the Firm’s history. Andrea follows current Managing Partner Daniel Gilheney, CPA, CFE, who will transition to the role of Senior Advisor following 38 years of leadership and service within the Firm.
As the Firm celebrates its 45th year in business, this transition marks a significant milestone in the Firm’s continued growth and evolution, while underscoring its commitment to excellent client service and supporting an environment where all team members can thrive.
Andrea LaBarge started her career with EY Chicago before joining FMF&E in 2005. She is part of the Firm’s Executive Committee and has led the Firm’s audit and accounting department since 2019. Andrea currently co-leads the Firm's national energy practice and will continue to do so in her new role. In addition to expertise in the energy sector, Andrea has experience in the manufacturing, distribution, and construction industries. Andrea holds degrees from Clemson University 2000 and the College of William and Mary 2001 and is an active member of the AICPA and NYSSCPA.
In addition to Andrea’s appointment, the Firm has also announced several leadership advancements:
Tim Rake, CPA and Al Boudreau, CPA were recently named co-leaders of the Firm’s tax department. Rake and Boudreau have both demonstrated a long history of client service excellence and technical expertise across each of the industries that the Firm serves.
Cheryl Wentworth, CPA has been appointed to lead the Firm’s audit and accounting department. Wentworth has a deep knowledge of and has been very involved in resource management, as well as expertise in audit and assurance functions across the industries the Firm serves, most notably however, in the energy industry.
Daniel Gilheney, who joined the Firm in 1987 and has served as Managing Partner since October 1, 2020, and has been instrumental in shaping its culture, expanding its focus on client service, and mentoring the next generation of leaders. He will remain actively engaged with the Firm and its leadership in his new role as Senior Advisor.
“It’s an honor to step into this role and build on the foundation Dan and those before him have helped shape,” stated LaBarge. “I look forward to leading our Firm through continued growth and innovation; while ensuring our clients continue to receive the high level of service and attention they have come to expect from us.”
Dan Gilheney added, “It’s been an honor to have led this Firm over the last five years and to have worked with a talented group of professionals for the past 38 years. From the Firm’s founding in 1980, it has been led by a great group of people and will now be taken to a new level under Andrea’s leadership. I have worked closely with Andrea since 2005, including her time on our Executive Committee over the last five years. I have every confidence in Andrea’s leadership and the continued success of our Firm.”
These appointments signal a continued investment in the strength and future of the Firm, grounded in the values of care, curiosity, and courage.
