April 8, 2025—Syracuse, NY: The Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology (MOST) is hosting an inaugural Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 19, from 10-3. The festival is free to the public and will take place outdoors in Armory Square on the museum’s east lawn and the W. Jefferson Street loop, which will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event.
The Earth Day Festival celebrates the upcoming Earth Day holiday on April 22 and is part of the museum’s celebration of Earth Month throughout April. The outdoor event includes:
- Activity booths with hands-on activities from the MOST and community partners
- Food trucks, music, and entertainment
- NYAAC Mobile Dairy Experience on site with a real dairy calf and NYS Dairy Ambassador (learn more at nyanimalag.org/mobile-dairy-experience)
- Project displays from MOST Earth Camp participants
- SUNY ESF Summer Science Week Info Table (free camp for graduating 8th graders, registration open now at most.org/camps)
The MOST is also open to the public from 9:30-5 the same day, with additional Earth Day-themed activities indoors (museum admission required), including:
- DIY Earth Circle Book all-day MAKE activity in Tessy Machines & Makers sponsored by Marquardt exhibit
- STEM Story Time, featuring a reading of Save the Scraps by Bethany Stahl at 11:30am in the STEM Story Time room
- Plant a seed to take home and watch grow in our daily demonstration at 2:00pm in the MolinaCares Media Lab
- Sustainability focused exhibits, including M&T Climate Kiosks and Novelis Recycling Station
The Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology (MOST) is a hands-on science and technology museum located in historic Armory Square in downtown Syracuse. The MOST is focused on dynamic science education that engages learners of all ages and abilities. It features 35,000 square feet of interactive permanent and traveling exhibits plus the state-of-the-art National Grid ExploraDome theatre. The museum operates numerous STEM education programs and community outreach events throughout the year.
