RT Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution whose charter was granted through the National Credit Union Administration in the name of Rome Teachers Federal Credit Union. It was founded in 1958 by seven employees of the Rome Consolidated School District to serve its employees and their immediate family members. Its purpose is to promote thrift among its members, by affording them an opportunity for accumulating their savings, and to create for them a source of credit for provident or productive purposes.
