Pulaski, NY – January 22, 2025 – The Oswego County Prevention Coalition is proud to announce a new partnership with Salmon River Cannabis Company. The partnerships will help the Coalition to promote and educate the community on the importance of safe and responsible storage of cannabis products. As part of this initiative, free lock bags, no purchase necessary, will be distributed to consumers aged 21 and over at the Pulaski-based dispensary.

Funded by a grant from the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), this program is designed to help keep cannabis products secure and out of reach of children. By providing lockable storage solutions, the Coalition and Salmon River Cannabis Company aim to reduce accidental ingestion and misuse, fostering a safer community for all.

“As cannabis becomes more accessible, it’s crucial to prioritize safety and responsibility,” said Travis Bulluck, Community Coalition Manager, Oswego County Prevention Coalition. “These lock bags offer a simple yet effective way to ensure cannabis remains in the hands of adults while protecting our youth”.

This initiative aligns with state regulations emphasizing that no one under the age of 21 may enter a cannabis dispensary or legally purchase or consume cannabis products. "At Salmon River Cannabis Company, we are committed to promoting responsible use and safety within our community," said Erik Hicks, General Manager. "These lock bags are an essential tool for preventing unintended access to cannabis, and we’re proud to collaborate with the Oswego County Prevention Coalition on this effort."

Consumers visiting Salmon River Cannabis Company can collect their free lock bags, no purchase necessary, during regular business hours while supplies last.

Salmon River Cannabis Company is located at 3808 NY-13, Pulaski, NY 13142 and is open 7 days a week starting at 10 a.m.

The Oswego County Prevention Coalition is a community coalition that supports prevention and education and does not support the adolescent use of cannabis products or the distribution and sale of cannabis.
