Oswego Health and Community Partners Proclaim November 13th as World Kindness Day in Oswego County
(Oswego, NY): In a world that seems to be getting more and more divided, it can feel like there’s not much you can do. And yet, we all know that doing small acts of kindness for strangers or people in need is one of the best ways to make the world a better place. It doesn’t take much effort, but it has an incredible impact on those around us.
World Kindness Day is celebrated annually on November 13th. On this day, participants attempt to make the world a better place by celebrating and promoting good deeds and pledging acts of kindness, either as individuals or as organizations.
Oswego Health is bringing this movement to Oswego County with the help of key community partners to raise awareness for World Kindness Day and more importantly share how kindness has been shown to increase self-esteem, empathy, and compassion, and improve mood.
We are inviting media to join us as we proclaim November 13th as World Kindness Day throughout Oswego County.
When: Wednesday, November 10th at 2:00 p.m.
Where: Lakeview Center for Mental Health and Wellness, 29 E. Cayuga St; Oswego, NY
Remarks to be presented by – Dr. Colon, who oversees Lakeview Center for Mental Health and Wellness, Mayor William J. Barlow, Mayor Deana M. Michaels, and a representative from Assemblyman William A. Barclay’s office.
