Park-it at the NYS Fair with the American Red Cross

Posted on August 10, 2021

The Great New York State Fair is back this year, and so is one of our largest fund-raisers. Since 2002, The American Red Cross has operated a parking lot during the fair, raising over $120,000 each year. Thanks to the generosity of Crucible Industries, the Red Cross is allowed to operate their parking lot near the entrance of the fair grounds for the duration of the fair, scheduled for August 20th, 2021 -September 6th, 2021 in Syracuse. Fair goers pay to park in our lot with proceeds going to the American Red Cross. Since the fair is 18 days this year, we have over 700 shifts to fill. We need your help to make this a success!

For each shift worked you will receive complimentary parking on the day of your shift, and a complimentary fair admission ticket to be used on a day of your choosing!

There are three shifts available each day for the following positions:

Parking Specialist

• Direct vehicles to specific parking area – collaboration/teamwork

• Pet/child “detective” – assure no pets or children are left behind

• Walking/standing for 5+ hours – rain or shine

• American Red Cross ambassador

Traffic Specialist

• Manage pedestrian traffic within the lot near the entrance area, working in conjunction with traffic and security personnel for safe pedestrian crossing

• Direct vehicle traffic into the lot

• Standing/walking for 5+ hours – rain or shine

• American Red Cross ambassador

Sales Specialist
