Rosamond Gifford Zoo to Host Eggstravaganza EventPosted on April 9, 2025 |
The Rosamond Gifford Zoo invites guests to celebrate the season at the Eggstravaganza event on Sunday, April 13, 2025. From 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., guests can watch as animal care team members provide egg-themed enrichment items to the zoo’s animal residents.
Enrichment is a crucial element of animal welfare, providing the animals with physical and cognitive stimulation. As the animals investigate, play with, and otherwise interact with their Eggstravaganza items, they engage in their natural and instinctive behaviors, such as foraging and hunting. Frequent enrichment opportunities help keep our animals healthy and happy. Eggstravaganza is a special opportunity for guests to observe many of their favorite animals actively displaying these unique and exciting behaviors.
The Eggstravaganza begins at 10:30a.m. in the Social Animals building of the zoo when a pair of golden lion tamarins receive their egg-themed enrichment. The fun continues throughout the day and throughout the zoo! See below for the full schedule of enrichment sessions:
