Rosamond Gifford Zoo Kicks Off Autumn with Fall Festival & Annual Zoo Boo

Posted on September 24, 2025

SYRACUSE, NY — The Rosamond Gifford Zoo is set to become the ultimate destination for fall fun with the announcement of a returning favorite, Zoo Boo, and a brand-new celebration, the Fall Festival. These family-friendly events will bring a full month of seasonal activities to Central New York.

The Fall Festival

Kick off the autumn season at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo's first-ever Fall Festival on October 4 & 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hosted by the Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, this weekend-long event celebrates all things fall. Guests can enjoy a wide array of activities, including creature chats, local vendors, and classic autumnal games like corn hole, pumpkin bowling, and Jenga. Photo opportunities with selfie stations will be available throughout the grounds, providing the perfect backdrop for memorable fall photos.

A Kooky-Not-Spooky Zoo Boo

Something spooktacular this way comes! The zoo will transform into a hauntingly fun destination for the "kooky-not-spooky" Zoo Boo celebration on October 18, 19, 25, and 26. Guests of all ages are invited to wear their costumes and bring their treat bags for a wild trick-or-treat experience. In addition to trick-or-treat stations throughout the zoo, this event will feature animal encounters, creature chats, games, activities, and a festive costume parade. For the first time, Zoo Boo is FREE for members or included with regular zoo admission.

Both the Fall Festival and Zoo Boo are FREE for members or included with zoo admission. These events are designed to offer a day of fun and support animal care at the zoo and wildlife conservation efforts around the world.
