Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists (SOS) is pleased to announce a free virtual seminar available to people impacted by arthritis and considering joint replacements. The seminar, “The Latest Advances in Treatment Options for Hip and Knee Arthritis,” will be held on Wednesday, March 26, from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
SOS has a team of board certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons who specialize in joint replacement and care for ailing knees and hips. Four physicians will represent SOS and inform potential patients of various alternatives to treat joints with arthritis. Max R. Greenky, MD, Kevin A. Kopko, MD, Anthony M. Orio, MD, and David A. Quinzi, MD, will be on the panel of the virtual seminar to discuss:
- An overview of knee and hip arthritis and answers to questions about arthritis and joint replacement
- Non-surgical options for hip and knee arthritis including the most recent data on biologic treatments
- Advances in joint replacement surgery including new technologies and robotics
The event is open to the public and participants can register at no charge for the Zoom webinar at this link: sosbones.com/jointseminar. Although virtual, there is limited availability, and attendees are encouraged to register early to reserve their space.
A study published in Arthroplasty Today using data from the CMS Medicare forecasts a 42% increase in hip replacement and a 149% increase in knee replacements by 2040. The team at SOS is committed to educating the community about the various options available for treatment as the need for quality joint care grows. “There are many indicators that we will be seeing a growing need for joint replacements in Central New York,” states SOS Joint Replacement Surgeon Dr. Kevin Kopko. “My colleagues and I want to provide information and answer questions for people as they begin to consider treatment for their joints. We encourage people to join us even if they don’t have an immediate need but want to prepare.”
