Syracuse, NY – COR Development Company, in partnership with United Way of Central New York, Community Bank, and OneGroup, has officially kicked off the annual United for Moms Mother’s Day drive, a community-wide effort to collect essential personal care items for local women and families in need.

Now underway, the drive began on April 1 and will continue through May 3, 2026, with expanded participation and continued support from businesses and community members across Central New York.

Donations of personal care items such as deodorant, body wash, shampoo, socks, lip balm, and hair accessories can be dropped off at participating collection sites throughout the region. A full list of suggested donation items is available at:
https://www.unitedwedomore.org/moms

All contributions will be sorted, packed, and distributed to local mothers by COR Development and Community Bank employees on Tuesday May 5, 2026 just in time for Mother’s Day.

“Each year, this initiative continues to build momentum, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see our community come together in such a meaningful way. COR is proud to be part of something that makes a difference, and we’re grateful for the continued generosity of our partners and participants.” said Merissa Lynch, Marketing Manager for COR Development.

“Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the strength and resilience of all mothers, but for those in local shelters or programs, it can also be a time of significant stress. Through the United for Moms drive, United Way of Central New York is proud to partner with COR Development, Community Bank and OneGroup to ensure these women know their community stands behind them. These gift baskets are more than just a gesture; they are a way to deliver dignity, care, and a well-deserved moment of joy to women across Central New York who are working hard to build a brighter future for their families.” said Katie Hanlon, Chief Community Officer of United Way of Central New York.

“Strong communities are built when neighbors support one another, and United for Moms is a meaningful way to put that into action. By working alongside local partners and community members, we can help ensure mothers across Central New York have access to everyday essentials and feel supported this Mother’s Day. At Community Bank and our partner company One Group, we’re proud to be part of an effort that reflects our commitment to caring for the communities we serve,” said Lindsay Weichert, Community Bank Regional President of Central New York and United Way Board Member.

Collection bins will once again be available at multiple convenient locations across Central New York, including retail centers, local businesses, and Community Bank branches.
