Excellus BlueCross BlueShield is proud to announce its recognition by Forbes as one of America's Best Employers for Women 2026, highlighting the organization's continued commitment to fostering a workplace where women can grow and lead. This honor comes on the heels of another significant recognition from Forbes, which recently named Excellus BCBS one of America's Best Employers by State for 2026, underscoring the organization's reputation as a nationally recognized employer on multiple fronts.

This marks Excellus BCBS's continued presence on Forbes' list of America's Best Employers for Women, which recognizes 700 organizations across the nation that are creating supportive and inclusive workplaces for women. The ranking is presented by Forbes and Statista and is based on feedback from more than 146,000 women working for companies with at least 1,000 employees in the United States.

"Being recognized by Forbes as one of the best employers in New York and among the nation’s best employers for women is a testament to the culture our employees create every day," said Jim Reed, president and CEO of Excellus BCBS. "We are committed to attracting, supporting, and developing people who are passionate about serving our members and strengthening the communities where we live and work. This recognition reflects the dedication of our workforce and the values that guide us as a locally based health plan."

America's Best Employers for Women 2026 were identified through an independent survey that evaluated organizations on factors including workplace culture, career development opportunities, pay equity, work-life balance, parental leave, family support programs, and the representation of women in leadership positions. Survey responses from current and former employees, as well as an analysis of women's representation among executives and board members, contributed to the final rankings.

In addition, Forbes' America's Best Employers by State 2026 ranking recognizes companies that excel in employee satisfaction, workplace culture, comprehensive benefits, career advancement opportunities, and overall employer reputation. The list was developed through a survey of more than 245,000 employees nationwide.

These recognitions reinforce Excellus BCBS's commitment to cultivating a workplace where employees can build rewarding careers while advancing the company's mission of helping people in upstate New York live healthier and more secure lives.
