(Oswego, NY – August 13, 2026) The Oswego Health Foundation raised more than $34,000 to support Oswego Health’s Care Management Program through its 11th Annual For Your Health 5K & Wellness Event, held Saturday, August 8, at The Manor at Seneca Hill.
The annual event brought together community members, families, healthcare advocates, local businesses and sponsors for a morning focused on wellness, family fun and supporting access to resources that can make a meaningful difference in people’s health and well-being.
Proceeds from this year’s event will directly benefit Oswego Health’s Care Management Program, an extensive network of services available at no cost to Medicaid and non-Medicaid recipients throughout the community. Care Managers work with individuals to help them access the healthcare and community resources they need, while also identifying and addressing social factors that can affect their health.
This may include helping clients connect with housing resources, food assistance, transportation, medical care and other community services. In 2025, Oswego Health’s Care Management Program supported 375 clients, helping individuals navigate healthcare and connect with resources and services that address needs beyond the doctor’s office.
“Our Care Management team meets people where they are and helps connect the dots between healthcare and the everyday challenges that can impact someone’s ability to be healthy,” said Michele Hourigan, Director of Business and Community Development for the Oswego Health Foundation. “The incredible support of our community through this event will help ensure these services remain available to the people who need them most.”
The For Your Health 5K & Wellness Event has become a longstanding community tradition, offering participants the opportunity to support local healthcare while promoting healthy living. This year’s event included a Kids’ Fun Run, 5K Run/Walk and Wellness Fair featuring community organizations, health resources, vendors and family-friendly activities.
Auyer Race Timing & Event Management tracked the 5K results. This year’s overall winner was 16-year-old Thomas Wood of Fulton, who crossed the finish line with an impressive time of 19:31. The top male finishers also included 34-year-old Richard Nolan of Cape Vincent, with a time of 22:44, and 39-year-old Luke Murphy of Oswego, with a time of 23:07.

The Kids’ Fun Run winners were Sonny Kells in the 4–8 age division and Elijah Fieldson in the 9–12 age division.
The 11th annual event also brought extra excitement with friendly competitions and contests. The wheelchair-decorating contest was won by Dr. Karen Stanley and her mother, Stella. Sonny Kells claimed first place in the individual costume contest, The Sparkle Squad took home the prize for stroller/wagon decorating, and the group costume contest was awarded to the spirited “Seneca Hill Manor Highlanders” team.
The Wellness Fair was bustling with activity as community members explored booths, gathered resources and enjoyed interactive displays from vendors and local organizations. Highlights included a race car display by Oswego Health employee Mackenzie Coleman, face painting by Char Hemple, balloon animals by Hayley Starr, an ice cream cart donated by the Salvation Army, and wellness education from organizations including K-9 Caring Angels, Novelis, Fulton Special Events Committee, The Mix, The Angry Barista, Aqua Spa And Wellness Boutique, Oswego YMCA, Oswego County Health Dept., Suicide Prevention Coalition, Farnham, OCO Cancer Services, Peaceful Remedies, Child Advocacy Center, Mercy Flight Central, Oswego Fire Dept., Oswego Police Dept., Menter Ambulance, Oswego County Emergency Communications Drone, and Paige's Childhood Cancer Fund.
Oswego Health was also well-represented by staff from School-Based Therapy teams as well as staff from Oswego Health Medical Practice —complete with an inflatable colon exhibit.
Oswego Health extends its sincere appreciation to presenting sponsors Constellation, Kinney Drugs Foundation and ProAct, Inc., as well as the businesses, organizations, volunteers, participants and community members whose support made the event possible.
“The success of this event is a true reflection of what can happen when a community comes together around a shared commitment to health,” Hourigan said. “We are grateful to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered, sponsored, donated or simply came out to support the event. Their generosity will have an impact well beyond race day.”
As a nonprofit healthcare system, Oswego Health relies on the generosity of the community to help support programs and services that improve the health of local residents.
