Program & Initiative
The Clean Tech Center
The Clean Tech Center at The Tech Garden in Syracuse is a NYSERDA-funded initiative focused on supporting companies commercializing environmental and clean energy technologies. Clean Tech refers to an emerging sector of products, services, and processes that harness renewable energy sources, reduce the carbon footprint, and advance sustainability.
The ultimate goal of the Clean Tech Center is to support client companies by providing the training, resources, and expertise needed to get them ready for investment, cash flow positive, and successfully commercializing their emerging clean energy technologies.
The Clean Tech Center offers support for entrepreneurs and early stage companies through incubation, acceleration and retention. We evaluate each company’s individual needs and provide customized assistance in order to obtain funding, technical support, and commercialization assistance.
In addition, The Clean Tech Center works to connect clean tech companies with national and state resource providers for acceleration support of staged growth.
EPIC Building Accelerator
The Clean Tech Center partners with the SyracuseCOE to administer the EPIC Building Accelerator. The Energy Program for Innovation Clusters (EPIC) helps New York State companies accelerate development and commercialization of innovations for energy hardware to create Grid-Interactive and Energy & Efficient Buildings (GEBs). EPIC is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE). The program's goals are to strengthen the cluster of companies engaged with the GEB market, while promoting equity and public health in the built environment and supporting the nation’s transition to net-zero emissions.
