Director of Workforce-Industry Partnerships

This role focuses on engaging business leaders in advanced manufacturing and high-tech industries to ensure their needs are represented in our workforce strategies. You'll develop and implement strategies to attract, retain and advance employees, with a focus on un/underemployed and diverse talent.

Salary: $80,000-$90,000

Job Duties

Key Responsibilities:

Employer Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with employers, serving as the primary contact between them and our Workforce Innovation team. Identify and cultivate new industry partnerships aligned with our mission.

Program Development: Design and facilitate employer engagement in workforce training programs. Ensure alignment with employer needs and hold employers accountable for program commitments.

Industry Partnership Management: Coordinate Advanced Manufacturing Industry Partnership activities, including stakeholder communications and meeting management. Convene regular meetings to discuss workforce challenges and develop common solutions.

Data and Evaluation: Track and analyze partnership performance, generating regular reports for senior management. Use data to optimize and enhance the value of these relationships.
 
Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience in workforce development, business development or community development.
  • Experience in the field of business development or workforce development.
  • Strong understanding of the Central New York industry landscape, especially manufacturing and high-tech sectors.
  • Excellent relationship-building, conflict resolution and communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse communities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform to a high standard while working independently and to communicate effectively and efficiently back to the team.
  • Comfort with public speaking.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
Close mental and visual attention required for performing work, including verbal communication, using a computer and extensive reading.
 
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a typical office environment with occasional travel to client/member locations.
