The expansion of CenterState CEO’s The Tech Garden is well underway. In addition to adding two new floors, the building will create a more inclusive, state-of-the-art hub of programming, resources and tools for aspiring entrepreneurs of any industry.
“We really want entrepreneurs of all industries and backgrounds to see this expansion and know that this community is prepared to invest in them, the next generation of business owners in Central New York,” said Rob Simpson, president of CenterState CEO.
This new facility’s expanded programming will be designed to reach more diverse entrepreneurs in in the region. There will be more events in the building and greater opportunities to collaborate with partners across Central New York’s innovation ecosystem, ultimately achieving better outcomes for entrepreneurs and new businesses.
This vision calls for all levels of partnership and community engagement, and business community leaders have already stepped up to support and give back to the newest generation of entrepreneurs. Northland Communications, Tony Baird Electronics, Amazon, The Bonadio Group, Brackens Financial Solutions Network and Community Bank have already signed on as sponsors of the new building.
“Community is the driving force behind everything we do. It’s in our name and we’re always seeking intentional opportunities where we can strengthen the communities we serve in meaningful ways,” Community Bank President and CEO Dimitar Karaivanov said. “We’ve proudly partnered with CenterState CEO on initiatives that support broader economic inclusion and a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Central New York, and The Tech Garden is a natural extension of that partnership. It’s an exciting step forward in enabling that vision and creating an environment where new businesses or startups can successfully grow and thrive right here in Syracuse.”
Beyond the visibility companies gain from attaching their name to this incredible new facility, many sponsor levels include opportunities to directly engage with tenants and programming, and all offer a way to contribute to the greater transformation of Central New York.
“This project will go a long way in supporting the continued revitalization of the area by expanding access to vital programs and resources that future generations of skilled entrepreneurs can leverage to nurture their creativity and talent. These capable entrepreneurs will contribute to the strength of our region, and Central New York will be more resilient because of their contributions,” said Karaivanov. “I’d encourage other businesses and community leaders to consider the benefits The Tech Garden expansion project will provide. Job creation, talent retention and economic growth are exciting possibilities, but they’re more attainable if we invest together to turn that promise into a reality.”
CenterState CEO extends deep gratitude to those who have chosen to support this project. See our current supporters.

More from Community Bank
Community Bank is a Tier 2 Sponsor of the expanded Tech Garden, supporting a new outdoor terrace being created at the facility. Community Bank President and CEO Dimitar Karaivanov shares more about their commitment to supporting the expansion and ontributing to a more inclusive innovation ecosystem in Central New York.
Why is it important to invest in the community and the local innovation economy?
Investing in the community and local innovation economy is one way to create an ecosystem where everyone can thrive and reach their full potential. By removing barriers to access, we can enable creative thought and innovative solutions that tackle regional challenges and help accelerate future growth in our region for many years to come.
Why should other business and community leaders support this project?
Technological innovation is ever present in banking, as in many other industries, and in the fast-paced digital world we live in, more room needs to be made for forward-thinking approaches to the way we do business. The Tech Garden will serve as a hub for this type of imaginative thinking and a space for fostering connections that may one day be mutually beneficial in transforming operations and business practices or growing the pipeline of local talent in our community. Syracuse has always been a great place to do business, and we are excited to be part of the dynamic growth of downtown.
