Statement from CenterState CEO President and CEO Rob Simpson and Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sara Broadwell regarding the Nov. 20 fire at the Novelis plant in Oswego County:
“CenterState CEO and the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce continues its steadfast support of Novelis following the four-alarm fire at its Oswego County plant on Nov. 20, 2025. We are deeply grateful to the crews who helped ensure the total safety of the employees present at the site and are working to extinguish the fire.
Novelis is a vital partner to Central New York’s economy and to the national auto supply chain. Its success helps move all of us forward. CenterState CEO and the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce are dedicated to assisting Novelis throughout its recovery to ensure the plant and its employees receive the support they need. We ask the Central New York community to join us in aiding Novelis and its employees as they now navigate the difficult work of rebuilding and recovering."
