Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists (SOS), Central New York’s regional leader in providing high-quality, comprehensive orthopedic care, is proud to welcome Mark A. Wolgin, MD, a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing exclusively in spine surgery. Dr. Wolgin has joined SOS’s Neck and Back Team, further expanding the organization’s ability to deliver advanced spine care to the community.
Dr. Wolgin brings a patient-centered approach focused on reducing pain, restoring mobility, and improving overall quality of life through comprehensive and compassionate spine care. He has extensive experience treating a wide range of spinal conditions, with expertise in complex neck and back disorders, including degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica, and spinal instability.
Prior to joining SOS, Dr. Wolgin practiced at Orthopedic Associates in Albany, Georgia, where he specialized in the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of spinal conditions. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center. He went on to complete advanced fellowship training in spinal disorders at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Wolgin’s clinical philosophy emphasizes evidence-based care, patient education, and individualized treatment plans, utilizing both minimally invasive spine surgery and traditional surgical techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes.
