(Syracuse, NY): Solvay Bank, established in 1917 as the oldest community bank established in Onondaga County, is pleased to announce two strategic additions to its leadership team: Jim Bligh joins as Assistant Vice President and Retail Banking Manager, and Mike Cummings joins as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer, and Team Lead.
Jim Bligh has joined Solvay Bank as Assistant Vice President and Retail Banking Manager. Bligh graduated from SUNY Brockport with a Bachelor of Science in American History, where he earned placement on the President’s and Dean’s Lists. He is a commissioned Notary Public and is certified to teach financial education classes. His community involvement includes participation in the Solvay Music and Athletic Boosters, the Ruffed Grouse Society, and prior membership in the Baldwinsville Rotary Club.
Mike Cummings joins the Commercial Lending team as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer, Team Lead, bringing over two decades of banking experience. He began his career in 2000 as a part-time teller and spent 13 years managing branches for HSBC and First Niagara before transitioning to commercial banking, most recently serving on KeyBank’s Middle Market team. A 2003 graduate of Oswego State with a degree in Business Management, Cummings is also a 2017 alumnus of Leadership Greater Syracuse.
