5 finalists chosen for $3M GENIUS NY business competition in Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. -- (syracuse.com) Five startup companies involved in the drone industry have been chosen to compete in the third round of the year-long state-funded $3 million Genius NY business competition at the Syracuse Tech Garden.
The companies will compete for a total of $3 million in direct investment, with one grand prize of up to $1 million and four $500,000 awards.
The five companies will move into the Tech Garden, a business incubator facility run by CenterState CEO in downtown Syracuse, in January to begin competing for the prize money.
They were selected from a pool of more than 350 submissions. Finalists include teams with international and regional representation.
