CenterState CEO Acting President and CEO Ben Sio joined Greg Lancette, president of the Central and Northern New York Building Trades Council, on Newsmakers with Andrew Donovan to discuss ways the community needs to prepare for Micron and its impacts.
"We want to make sure our civic infrastructure is prepared to welcome 35,000 new households to the community," said Sio. "If you think about it, we need to make sure health care is in a good spot. We need to make sure our roads and bridges are in a good spot. Everything that goes into a new growth community or a growing community, really, from our perspective, needs to be amplified. So we need to build more housing. We need to build more schools. We need to build more training programs. We're focused on that."
Sio and Lancette also discuss the start of construction in Clay and collaborative efforts underway to build a strong, local workforce.
