Robinson Helicopter Company, a global leader in civilian rotorcraft, acquired Ascent AeroSystems in late April. Ascent participated in the first cohort of the GENIUS NY program and was awarded $600,000 for placing second during the 2017 event finals. GENIUS NY Program Director Kara Jones recently spoke to New Channel 9's Jeff Kulikowsky and discussed how the GENIUS NY program sets up early-stage companies, like Asecent in 2017, for growth.
"We have the right formula to support these early stage companies and for their future growth. While Ascent is the first team to hit this huge milestone, there will be others," Jones said.
GENIUS NY is currently accepting applications for its 8th round. Applications will be accepted through May 15. Apply today.
