The community is invited to learn more about the growing number of construction and building trades opportunities in Central New York. These will be some of the first roles available related to the Micron project.
Syracuse Build supported by CenterState CEO, with NYS Department of Labor and CNY Works, is hosting information sessions for those interested in jobs in construction and building trades. The sessions take place during Micron CNY Community Week and will host representatives from Micron Technology and Gilbane Construction. At the session, those from Micron and Gilbane will talk about the project, and workforce representatives will discuss ways to get involved.
No experience is required. During the session, you will learn about:
- Job opportunities and qualifications for regional construction projects, including Micron and I-81
- Step-by-step guidance on how to join a local construction union
- Benefits of union membership
- Available training programs and apprenticeship opportunities
- Resume writing and interview strategies
The sessions are free to attend, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged due to limited space. Walk-ins will be accepted if space is available
