The Advance Media New York Editorial Board published an opinion article highlighting the recent federal Tech Hub award for the NY SMART I-Corridor and the ongoing investments that will make the region a premiere location for semiconductor manufacturing in the US. The NY SMART I-Corridor is the only consortium focused on the semiconductor industry to receive a federal Tech Hub award.
"The consortium’s leaders — CenterState CEO in Syracuse, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership in Buffalo and ROC2025 in Rochester — also have been intentional in their planning. They are targeting underserved communities for investment and underserved populations for recruitment, education and training," the Editorial Board said. "Whether you’re a company looking to break into the Micron supply chain, a worker looking for a better job or a child contemplating the future, there is something here for you. It is early days, but not too early to say: That sound you hear is opportunity knocking. Get ready to answer the door."
