Jennifer Rosner is the author of The Yellow Bird Sings, her recently released debut novel. It's been called "exquisite, heart-rending...an absolutely beautiful and necessary novel" by The New York Times Book Review and a finalist for the 2020 National Jewish Book Award. The Yellow Bird Sings tells the story of a Jewish mother and her young daughter, a musical prodigy, in hiding during WWII. Rosner's previously published books include the memoir, If a Tree Falls: A Family's Quest to Hear and Be Heard, and the picture book, The Mitten String. In addition to writing, Jennifer teaches philosophy. She received her BA from Columbia University and her Ph.D. from Stanford University, and lives in western Massachusetts with her family.
Gwen Strauss is the author of The Nine: The True Story of a Band of Women Who Survived the Worst of Nazi Germany, which was released on May 4, 2021. It follows the true story of Strauss' great aunt, who led a band of nine female resistance fighters as they escaped a German forced labor camp and made a ten-day journey across the front lines of WWII from Germany back to Paris. Her other books include: The Hiding Game, a Middle Grade Reader about artists hiding in Marseille with the help of Varian Fry in 1940; Trail of Stones, a book of poetry; The Night Shimmy, a children's book; and Ruth and the Green Book, which received wide recognition including the ALA 2011 Most Notable Middle Grade Reader and Honor book for the Jane Adam's Peace Prize. Strauss has been the director of the Dora Maar House artists residency program in Ménerbes, France since 2007.
