July 7, 2025—Syracuse, NY: The Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology (MOST) is proud to announce that it is now part of the Blue Star Museums program, a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, in collaboration with the Department of Defense. This program gives free admission to active-duty military, national guard, and reserves, along with 5 free guests between Armed Forces Day (third Saturday in May) and Labor Day every year.
The Blue Star Museums free admission program is available for those currently serving in the United States Military—Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force, members of the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned. Qualified members must show their military ID card for entrance into a participating Blue Star Museum. The active-duty member does not need to be present with their family members.
MOST president Lauren Kochian says, “The MOST is honored to welcome military families through the Blue Star Museums program, and we thank them for their service to our country. This program expands our commitment to those in uniform by offering additional unlimited free visits to our museum for up to 6 people, so they can discover, learn, & play all day!”
Nationwide, around 2,000 institutions participate through this program. The MOST is the first children’s museum and first science center to participate in Central New York. Other participating institutions can be found at arts.gov/blue-star-museums-map.
The Blue Star Museums program supplements the MOST’s year-round military admission program, which includes free tickets for active military and veterans plus one free guest. For more information about admission prices and discount programs, visit most.org/hours-prices.
Blue Star Families was founded by military family members in 2009 to empower these families to thrive as they serve. They are committed to strengthening military families by connecting them with their neighbors—individuals and organizations—to create vibrant communities of mutual support.
