(Oswego, NY – March 31, 2025) Oswego Health Medical Practice, a leading multi-specialty healthcare provider in Central New York, is excited to announce the addition of Gary Stoltz, RPA-C, to the Center for Weight Loss & Surgery team. With extensive experience and a strong commitment to local care, Stoltz will play a key role in enhancing the community's health and wellness.
Stoltz earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from LeMoyne College in 2007, following a Master of Science in Education from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1997. His professional experience spans various roles in clinical practice, particularly in bariatric surgery and weight loss management. From 2020 to 2025, he worked at Graber MD in Syracuse, specializing in bariatric surgery and weight loss. Prior to that, Stoltz served in clinical and occupational medicine roles, including with Premise Health at Lockheed Martin in Liverpool from 2018 to 2020, and at Graber MD from 2017 to 2018. He has also held positions in otolaryngology at MJ Paciorek MD in Auburn, gastroenterology at University Hill Gastroenterology in Oswego, and occupational medicine at Oswego Hospital, where he worked on-site at the Fitzpatrick Nuclear Plant. His early career also includes experience as a surgical physician assistant at Fulton Hospital. Stoltz’s military background includes serving in the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1978 as a Specialist IV in pharmacy.
Starting March 31st, Stoltz will work alongside a highly skilled team of bariatric professionals, including Dr. Jeffrey DeSimone, Dr. Kenneth Cooper, and Dr. Taewan Kim. The Center for Weight Loss & Surgery is nationally recognized as an MBSAQIP-Accredited Center, meeting quality standards for safe and high-quality care of metabolic and bariatric patients. The program offers a comprehensive, personalized approach to weight loss, guided by experts in the field.
Excellus BlueCross BlueShield has also recognized the Center for Weight Loss & Surgery with a Bariatric Surgery designation through the Blue Distinction® Specialty Care program. Our multidisciplinary team includes three experienced physicians, two physician assistants, a psychologist, and a dietitian. The physicians affiliated with Central New York Surgical Physicians, PC, are well-known for helping patients achieve their weight-loss goals.
The Center also offers obesity medication management, utilizing GLP-1 medications that help reduce hunger, slow digestion, and alleviate comorbidities.
