Pinckney Hugo Group expands Syracuse headquarters, opens Rochester office

Posted on August 30, 2021

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Pinckney Hugo Group (PHG), a full-service marketing communications firm, has purchased and renovated the building adjacent to the agency’s headquarters in Syracuse, New York. The new space is expected to open this fall. The company has also expanded to the Rochester, New York, area and opened an office in Pittsford in late August.

“As our business continues to grow, we are expanding our footprint and our team,” said Doug Pinckney, president of PHG.

In 2022, the agency will celebrate 20 years under current ownership. PHG got its start in 1940 as Spitz Advertising and was acquired in 2002 by Doug Pinckney, Chris Pinckney and Aaron Hugo, who continue to lead the business today. Since then, PHG has grown organically from five to 90 team members, with client referrals fueling the growth.

In Syracuse, renovations are nearing completion in the new 15,000-square-foot building, which connects to the existing 35,000-square-foot office. The annex blends architectural elements of a nearly century-old building with modern design, and features creative meeting spaces, including diner booths, and video conferencing stations.

In Rochester, several professionals with more than 20 years of marketing experience each have joined the PHG team, and the agency continues to hire. The new Pittsford office is located at 1250 Pittsford-Victor Road.

“While the team worked remotely during the pandemic, we found an opportunity to hire additional talent in other markets,” said Aaron Hugo, chief strategy officer at PHG. “We chose to open an office in the Rochester area based on proximity to our Syracuse headquarters and because of the marketing talent and business opportunities in the area.”

Clients rely on PHG for the latest in branding; content, communities and communications; customer engagement and sales enablement; digital; experiential design; marketing and creative; media; research and insights; and video.

The agency was named one of the Best Companies to Work for in New York State four times, has been included on Inc. magazine’s list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in America eight times, and is a Google Premier Partner and a Facebook Business Partner.

The agency also has a presence in Charlotte, North Carolina.
